Church Plants:
Alabama has been blessed with some great church planters. Statistics prove that the fastest growth in the Apostolic Movement comes from new church starts (from a study by the Home Missions Division of the United Pentecostal Church International). As I travel the state I am reminded of what has gone into the planting and growing of our churches. Someone had a burden and opened the door of truth in a new city, town, or community.
I guess the greatest report one can give is that there will be people in heaven who otherwise would never have known the truth if these heroes had not been willing to sacrifice, face opposition, and carve out a church in new territory. Hopefully we can share some of their stories in the future. I am certain that it would bless all current church planters and perhaps inspire others to boldly step forth. There is still much territory to be conquered in Alabama.
Pre-approved Sites:There are several pre-approved sites in Alabama. You can find this information on this website. Help us pray for Double Springs, Oneonta, Birmingham, Hoover, Jacksonville, Clanton, Tuskegee, Daphne/Fairhope, and Troy. We are pleased to report that a preaching point has been established in our other pre-approved site, Wetumpka, and positive results are already occurring.
New Works:
We also have a new daughter work in Oxford, Alabama, pastored by Daniel Valladares. He is seeing great revival and we are excited about what God is doing. Pastor Steve Avery is seeing revival in Cuba, Alabama with his new church plant. Pastor Darrell Joslin has reopened the church in Haleyville and has already accomplished great things there. Please keep me informed of any new daughter works or church plants so we can pray with you and rejoice in your victories.
Home Missionaries:
We currently have nine Home Missionaries on location in Alabama. Jay Davis pastors Cornerstone Church in Lincoln, Steve Drake pastors Apostolic House of Prayer in Ragland, Matt Edmonson pastors Redeemed Apostolic Church in Tuscaloosa, Minerva Garcia pastors La nina de sus ojos, Iglesia Pentecostal in Athens, Joseph Grimes pastors The Apostolics of Citronelle, Andy Salinas pastors the Pentecostals of Dadeville, John-Paul Wallace pastors 2.42 Church in Montgomery, James Williams III pastors Point of Grace Church in Birmingham, and Randall Yeoman pastors Apostolic Revival Center in Hazel Green. Let’s build a wall of prayer around these church planters, and remember that you can financially support them through ACTS (Alabama Call to Souls). Contact the Alabama Home Missions for more information.
